Triptych

Triptych

Paris, 2007

Expanding on its predecessor Monolith (2005), Triptych is an audiovisual installation comprising three equally sized LED blocks equipped with motion detector cameras.

An imposing and overwhelming minimalist structure bathes viewers in light and sound, relying on their presence and proximity to alter its own behaviour. The work oscillates between displaying inviting and serene qualities to becoming more aggressive, brighter and louder hinting at a sentient and powerful presence within possessing its own personality and agency.

Triptych was commissioned for the Nuit Blanche in Paris, 2007, and has since travelled to the Netherlands for TodaysArts festival.
